I hadn't heard much about the Occupy Spaces (Wall Street, Chicago) in the media, but I did come across this article. It discusses the Occupy Protests on a global level, leading off the article with details of destruction & violent imagery in Rome. Is this the only reason MSNBC is even bothering to cover this story, because of the riots?

if someone's first exposure to the occupy movement was this article you'd think the entire thing was being run by militant radicals. i agree there hasn't been anywhere near enough coverage by mainstream media of the movement (if anything i get most of my info of the movement from facebook!), but is i that surprising when you consider the fact that most of the media is controlled by or has some connection to the 1%?
